Tiello is partnered with a growing commercial roofing contractor based in Charlotte, NC, in their search for a General Manager to lead and scale operations.

This organization is entering its next phase of growth and is looking for a strong operational leader who can drive performance, build structure, and develop a high-performing team. The company performs a mix of commercial and residential roofing projects and is committed to maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and client service.

The General Manager will play a key role in shaping operational processes, implementing systems, and guiding the organization through continued expansion.

Role Summary

The General Manager will serve as the operational leader responsible for overseeing field operations, production, and project execution while helping guide the company’s strategic growth.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of commercial roofing experience and a strong background leading roofing operations, production teams, and project execution. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of improving systems, developing teams, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Job Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations including field operations, production, and project management teams

Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve operational efficiency and accountability

Drive operational performance across scheduling, labor productivity, quality control, and project execution

Establish clear performance expectations for field teams, supervisors, and project managers

Partner with ownership to develop and execute strategies that support company growth and expansion

Identify new opportunities within commercial and residential roofing markets

Ensure operational infrastructure and staffing support continued company growth

Lead the development of a strong safety culture and enforce OSHA compliance across all jobsites

Implement proactive safety programs, training initiatives, and jobsite inspections

Utilize technology platforms to improve daily reporting, project tracking, and operational visibility

Improve communication and coordination between office teams and field operations

Monitor key project metrics to ensure jobs remain on schedule and within budget

Recruit, mentor, and develop field and office leadership teams

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications / Requirements

5+ years of commercial roofing experience

Strong knowledge of commercial and residential roofing systems and project execution

Proven experience managing roofing operations, production teams, or field crews

Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and jobsite safety programs

Experience using technology platforms for project reporting, scheduling, and operational tracking

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced construction environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing operational systems and process improvements

Background leading multi-crew or multi-project roofing operations

Experience scaling roofing operations or supporting company growth initiatives
