Job Title: Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Location: Greater St. Louis Metro Area, MO
Compensation: $125,000–$145,000 Base + Bonus + ESOP

Position Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have experience managing $10M–$40M+ ground-up commercial projects and a strong background working on hard-bid construction.This position requires a Project Manager who can take full ownership of project execution, including scheduling, financial performance, subcontractor management, and client relationships.
The role is well suited for someone who enjoys managing complex projects while working within a collaborative environment that values accountability, communication, and long-term professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Develop, maintain, and actively manage detailed project schedules
- Manage hard-bid projects and understand the competitive bidding process
- Lead subcontractor buyout, contract execution, and scope coordination
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and change management
- Monitor project financial performance and identify potential cost or schedule issues early
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Lead project and jobsite meetings
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams throughout construction
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
- Evaluate constructability throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Ensure projects meet company standards for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, and project partners
- Mentor junior project staff and support their professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent construction experience will also be considered
- Proven Project Manager experience with a commercial General Contractor
- Strong ground-up commercial construction experience
- Experience managing projects in the $10M–$40M+ range
- Demonstrated experience with larger hard-bid construction projects
- Understanding of competitive bidding, subcontractor buyout, and scope management
- Extensive experience developing and managing construction schedules
- Strong understanding of project budgets, forecasting, contracts, and cost controls
- Ability to independently manage projects while collaborating effectively with field and leadership teams
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to project planning and issue resolution
- Ability to travel regionally for day trips with limited overnight travel
- Interest in long-term growth within an employee-owned General Contractor
