Position: Commercial Roofing Lead Service Technician
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $25–$34/hour
Travel: 75% Nationwide Travel
Tiello has partnered with a leading commercial roofing contractor that is expanding its service operations and looking to add an experienced Commercial Roofing Lead Service Technician to its team in Phoenix, AZ.
The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, communicates professionally, and is ready to grow into a larger leadership role within a high-performing commercial roofing organization.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of commercial roofing maintenance and repair experience and strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, and metal roofing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of commercial low-slope roofing systems to identify leaks, damage, maintenance needs, and potential failures
- Diagnose and repair commercial roofing issues, including leaks, drainage problems, weather-related damage, and other service-related concerns
- Complete roof repairs, maintenance work, tenant improvements, and small roofing projects
- Lead and guide an Assistant Technician during daily field operations
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards
- Troubleshoot complex roofing issues and determine the appropriate repair solutions
- Take detailed photos and provide accurate notes, recommendations, and documentation for each service order
- Identify additional repair, maintenance, and service opportunities while working on client properties
- Communicate clearly with clients, Service Coordinators, Service Managers, and other team members
- Provide updates regarding job progress, site conditions, scheduling, and additional work recommendations
- Train and develop Assistant Technicians to prepare them for future leadership opportunities
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked company vehicle
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are available and properly maintained
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and other jobsite personnel
- Participate in emergency and on-call service work as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial roofing maintenance and repair experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and repair methods
- Ability to troubleshoot leaks, drainage issues, and weather-related roof damage
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements
- Comfortable working at heights and on commercial rooftops
- Ability to read and understand basic roofing conditions and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a small field team
- Valid driver`s license with an insurable driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% nationwide
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Low-slope roofing manufacturer certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Boom lift, telehandler, or forklift certification
- Experience with Centerpoint Connect, FCS Roofing Software, or similar service platforms
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Previous experience leading or training roofing technicians
Compensation & Benefits
