Position: Vice President of Operations
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX
Pay Range: $150,000 - $200,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus

Tiello has partnered with a premier commercial mechanical contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth market on their search for a Vice President of Operations. This executive leadership position will oversee the company`s operational performance while driving strategic growth, developing high-performing teams, and strengthening relationships throughout the North Texas construction market.
The Vice President of Operations will work directly alongside the President to establish operational strategy, improve project execution, develop future leaders, and position the company for continued expansion. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible executive role with significant influence over the company`s future direction.
The ideal candidate is a proven mechanical construction executive with extensive operational leadership experience, a strong network throughout the DFW market, and the ability to scale an organization while maintaining exceptional customer service and financial performance.
Position Overview
The Vice President of Operations will provide executive oversight for all operational functions, including project management, field operations, scheduling, workforce planning, operational processes, and overall project performance. This individual will establish company-wide operational standards while ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and with exceptional quality.
Success in this role requires balancing strategic planning with hands-on leadership. The Vice President of Operations will mentor operational leaders, collaborate with executive leadership on business strategy, and help create the systems, processes, and culture necessary to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
- Partner with the President to develop and execute the company`s long-term operational strategy
- Help establish annual business goals, operational initiatives, and growth objectives
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic guidance on company performance
- Represent the company with clients, general contractors, engineers, and industry partners
Operations Leadership
- Provide executive leadership across all project management and field operations
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and at the highest level of quality
- Oversee project portfolios, manpower planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and operational performance
- Standardize operational processes and implement best practices across the organization
- Drive accountability through KPIs, performance metrics, and operational reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and overall project execution
Financial Performance
- Oversee operational budgets, forecasting, project profitability, and resource planning
- Review job cost reports, labor productivity, work-in-progress, and financial performance across all projects
- Partner with executive leadership on annual budgeting and long-term financial planning
- Support contract negotiations, major vendor relationships, and subcontractor agreements
- Drive operational improvements that increase profitability and scalability
Business Development & Client Relationships
- Build and strengthen relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, engineers, and strategic partners
- Support business development efforts by providing operational insight during pursuits and client presentations
- Identify opportunities for market expansion and long-term strategic partnerships
- Help position the company as a preferred mechanical contractor throughout North Texas
Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, mentor, and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Field Leadership
- Foster a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement
- Develop succession plans and leadership development initiatives across the organization
- Build an operational team capable of supporting sustained company growth
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within commercial mechanical construction
- Executive or senior operational leadership experience overseeing multiple project teams
- Strong relationships throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth construction market
- Extensive experience managing commercial HVAC, piping, plumbing, or mechanical construction operations
- Proven success leading organizational growth while improving operational performance
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and operational metrics
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems
- Bachelor`s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Experience leading operations for a growing mechanical contractor
- Strong business development and executive client relationship experience
- Proven track record of building high-performing operational teams

- Frequent collaboration with executive leadership, project teams, clients, and business partners
