Tiello has partnered with a long-standing commercial HVAC and mechanical services organization on their search for Commercial HVAC Service Technicians throughout the Austin and Central Texas market.
With more than a century of experience in the mechanical industry, this organization has built its reputation around technical excellence, customer service, innovation, and developing talented HVAC professionals. Their service operation includes a large team of technicians supported by experienced Service Managers, Professional Engineers, Project Managers, and technical leadership.
Due to continued growth in Central Texas, we`re looking to speak with HVAC professionals across multiple experience levels, from developing technicians looking for the right place to build their careers to experienced commercial service technicians ready for their next long-term opportunity.
Position Overview
The Commercial HVAC Service Technician will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and support a variety of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems throughout the Austin market.
Depending on experience, technicians may work independently on advanced service calls, assist senior technicians while developing their skills, or provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Diagnose mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and controls-related issues
- Service and support large commercial rooftop units and associated mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot motors, electrical components, sensors, controls, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Assist with HVAC equipment installation, replacement, and startup
- Evaluate system performance and recommend appropriate repairs or improvements
- Provide technical consultation and assist with estimating service work when appropriate
- Maintain accurate digital service records and equipment documentation
- Communicate equipment conditions and repair recommendations clearly with customers
- Participate in ongoing technical and safety training
- Collaborate with other technicians and service leadership on complex equipment issues
- Mentor and support developing technicians based on experience level
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage
Equipment & Technical Experience
Technicians may support a wide variety of commercial equipment and systems, including:
- Large commercial rooftop units
- Split systems
- Air handling units
- Commercial refrigeration circuits
- Hydronic and mechanical systems
- Pumps and motors
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Electrical and control systems
- Building Automation Systems
- Associated commercial HVAC equipment
Candidates are not expected to have experience with every system listed. Training and mentorship are available based on experience level.
Qualifications
- HVAC service, construction, maintenance, or related mechanical experience preferred
- Graduates of an HVAC technical or trade school program are encouraged to apply
- TDLR Technician Registration required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop technically
- Safety-oriented approach to field work
- Strong work ethic and personal accountability
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a service team
- Willingness to participate in training and continuing education
- Valid driver`s license and ability to meet company driving requirements

Physical & Work Environment Expectations
- Field-based position supporting commercial customers throughout Central Texas
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, equipment yards, and active commercial facilities

- Ability to lift and handle tools, parts, and equipment as required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions
- Participation in rotating on-call coverage required
