Job Title: Industrial Construction Superintendent
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Compensation: $120,000-150,000
Company Overview
Tiello has partnered with an established Arizona-based general contractor delivering commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Phoenix market. The company works across industrial, automotive, office, retail, utility, and other commercial markets and is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join its team due to continued growth.
The company primarily builds for end users and delivers complete projects from initial site development and ground-up construction through interior improvements, closeout, and final turnover.
Role Summary
The Construction Superintendent will lead day-to-day field operations for ground-up commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Phoenix market.
This individual will be responsible for managing the complete field execution of the project, including site/civil work, underground utilities, structural construction, building systems, interior improvements, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, quality control, safety, inspections, punch, closeout, and turnover.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded commercial construction Superintendent who understands how the entire building comes together. This position requires someone with true ground-up experience who can manage both the building shell and the detailed interior improvements necessary to deliver a complete, operational facility to the end user.

- Interior buildouts associated with ground-up construction
- End-user facilities
Upcoming projects include an approximately 82,000-square-foot pre-engineered facility in Peoria, an expansion project for SRP in the Tempe/Chandler area, and multiple automotive/dealership expansion projects in the East Valley.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day field operations for ground-up commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Manage projects from initial site/civil and underground work through structural construction, interior improvements, closeout, and final turnover.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, inspectors, and other project partners.
- Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules, sequencing, look-ahead planning, and critical field milestones.
- Coordinate site development activities, including grading, underground utilities, concrete, paving, access, and overall site logistics.
- Manage structural construction and coordinate the transition between site, structural, architectural, MEP, and interior scopes.
- Oversee complete interior buildout and ensure interior improvements are properly coordinated with the building shell and building systems.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation to identify constructability concerns, coordination issues, and potential scope gaps.
- Coordinate closely with Project Management, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
- Lead subcontractor coordination and ensure trade partners are meeting schedule, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
- Manage project inspections and coordinate with municipal, third-party, and other applicable inspection authorities.
- Maintain quality control throughout construction and ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts before they negatively impact schedule or project execution.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
- Manage site logistics, material deliveries, manpower coordination, access, and construction sequencing.
- Utilize Procore for field documentation, project communication, reporting, drawings, RFIs, inspections, punch, and other Superintendent responsibilities.
- Conduct regular subcontractor and field coordination meetings.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.
- Coordinate punch-list activities, final inspections, commissioning/turnover requirements, and project closeout.
- Drive projects through successful completion and deliver a fully operational facility to the client.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial construction field leadership or Superintendent experience preferred.
- Strong ground-up commercial and/or industrial construction experience required.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from site/civil and structural construction through complete interior buildout and final turnover.
- Strong understanding of civil/site work, underground utilities, concrete, structural systems, building envelope, MEP systems, interior construction, and finish scopes.
- Experience with industrial, automotive/dealership, commercial, utility, and/or similar end-user facilities strongly preferred.
- Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings is a plus.
- Phoenix-area commercial construction experience strongly preferred.
- Strong subcontractor management and trade coordination experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, details, and other project documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, constructability, scheduling, quality control, inspections, safety, and project closeout.
- Recent hands-on experience with Procore required, with the ability to utilize the platform effectively from a Superintendent perspective.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently manage field operations and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Project Management, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong understanding of how the building shell, systems, and interior improvements integrate into the completed project.
- Experience limited primarily to tenant improvements without substantial ground-up construction experience will not meet the requirements of this position.
- Candidates whose experience is primarily residential, wood-frame multifamily, or apartment construction will not meet the requirements of this position.
- Candidates whose experience is limited primarily to large warehouse/big-box shell construction without complete interior buildout experience will not meet the requirements
