Job Title: Roofing Service Manager
Location: Charleston, SC
Salary: $85,000–$105,000/year (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Roofing Service Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our commercial roofing service department. This role is responsible for managing service crews, coordinating repair and maintenance projects, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial roofing service, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple service projects simultaneously. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the service process while supporting the continued growth of the service division.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the commercial roofing service department.
- Schedule and coordinate service technicians, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Oversee commercial roof repair, leak investigation, preventive maintenance, and emergency service projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring exceptional communication throughout each project.
- Review incoming service requests and prioritize work based on urgency and customer needs.
- Coordinate with estimating, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project schedules, labor productivity, material usage, and job profitability.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards.
- Train, mentor, and support field personnel while promoting a positive team culture.
- Develop long-term relationships with building owners, property managers, facility managers, and general contractors.
- Identify opportunities for additional repairs, maintenance agreements, and reroofing projects.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, reports, and customer records.
- Assist in resolving customer concerns quickly and professionally.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing, including service, repairs, maintenance, or project management.
- Previous leadership experience managing roofing service crews or service operations.
- Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, Built-Up Roofing (BUR), metal roofing, and roof coatings.
- Experience coordinating multiple service projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roof inspections, leak detection, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, roof plans, and technical documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving field issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management or CRM software.
- Valid driver`s license with the ability to travel locally between job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with commercial property managers, facility managers, HOAs, general contractors, or building owners.
- OSHA 30 certification or other applicable safety certifications.
- Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and service agreements.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing warranties and manufacturer specifications.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
