Commercial Roofing Superintendent

Location: Knoxville, TN

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year + Discretionary Performance Bonuses

Tiello is partnered with an established commercial roofing contractor seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to oversee multiple crews and active job sites throughout the Knoxville market.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of commercial roofing experience and a proven ability to manage multiple crews, coordinate jobsite operations, and deliver projects safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. This position requires a hands-on field leader who can work independently, make timely decisions, and maintain accountability across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with Project Managers to develop project schedules, sequencing plans, staffing requirements, and equipment needs.
Oversee commercial roofing projects from mobilization through completion.
Lead and coordinate multiple roofing crews working across multiple job sites.
Ensure roofing systems are installed according to project drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and quality standards.
Coordinate daily manpower, materials, tools, equipment, deliveries, and subcontractors.
Monitor crew productivity, labor hours, project milestones, and daily jobsite performance.
Assist with progress reporting and cost tracking to ensure projects remain within budget.
Communicate schedule changes, project updates, and field issues to Project Managers, supervisors, and crews.
Identify potential delays, installation issues, and safety concerns before they affect project performance.
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements across all assigned job sites.
Conduct jobsite inspections and verify completed work meets internal standards and customer expectations.
Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and manufacturer details before and during installation.
Resolve field issues and make effective decisions under tight deadlines.
Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, time records, and project documentation.
Provide leadership, address conflicts, and maintain accountability across field teams.
Build professional relationships with customers, general contractors, inspectors, manufacturers, and other trades.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of commercial roofing experience required
Previous experience as a Commercial Roofing Superintendent, General Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field-leadership position required
Demonstrated experience managing multiple commercial roofing crews across multiple active job sites
Strong working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, installation methods, materials, and jobsite operations
Experience with low-slope roofing systems such as TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, BUR, coatings, and related sheet-metal details
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, roofing plans, blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and manufacturer details
OSHA 30 certification required
Valid driver’s license required
English-speaking required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced field environment
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, including overtime when necessary
