Company Overview
Our client is a well-established building envelope contractor specializing in façade restoration, exterior repairs, waterproofing, and structural rehabilitation for commercial, institutional, and multi-family buildings throughout New York City.
Their team performs complex exterior restoration work including masonry repair, concrete restoration, sealants, waterproofing, and façade system upgrades. The company prides itself on safety, craftsmanship, and delivering high-quality work while maintaining strong relationships with owners, consultants, and property managers.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Restoration Foreman to lead field crews and oversee façade restoration projects throughout Manhattan and the greater NYC area.
Position Overview
The Restoration Foreman is responsible for supervising field crews and coordinating daily operations on façade restoration projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to project specifications while maintaining high quality standards.
The Foreman will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to manage manpower, materials, and site logistics while serving as the primary leader for crews performing exterior restoration work.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and lead field crews performing façade restoration and exterior building repairs
• Coordinate daily jobsite operations including manpower, materials, equipment, and workflow
• Interpret project drawings, specifications, and scope of work
• Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
• Perform and oversee façade repair work including masonry restoration, concrete repair, waterproofing, sealants, and façade components
• Coordinate scaffolding, swing stages, lifts, and access systems required for exterior work
• Maintain jobsite productivity and ensure projects stay on schedule
• Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding progress, manpower needs, and site conditions
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and client expectations
• Train and mentor field crews while enforcing safety and workmanship standards
• Maintain daily reports, safety documentation, and jobsite records
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in façade restoration, masonry repair, or exterior building envelope work
• Previous experience in a Foreman or Crew Leader role supervising field teams
• Strong knowledge of façade systems including masonry, concrete, sealants, waterproofing, and exterior repairs
• Experience working with scaffolding, swing stages, and aerial lifts
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications required
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
• Experience working on NYC façade restoration projects
• Familiarity with Local Law 11 / FISP façade inspection and repair work
• Experience working with building envelope consultants, engineers, and property managers
