Tiello is partnering with a well-established Commercial Truck & Equipment Service Provider in Norfolk on their search for a Diesel Technician to join their growing service team. This organization offers a structured, technician-focused environment with factory training, top-tier diagnostic tools, and a strong emphasis on safety and work-life balance.

The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing commercial diesel vehicles, participating in OEM training, and contributing to a collaborative and efficient shop culture. This is a full-time, hourly position with a Monday-Friday schedule (7:30am-4:00pm) - no flat-rate pay, no weekends, and plenty of support to grow professionally.

Title: Diesel Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks using OEM-specific diagnostic equipment.
Accurately complete work orders and communicate repair needs to the service team.
Participate in manufacturer training programs, both in-person and online, to stay current on the latest service protocols.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area in compliance with all safety regulations.
Collaborate with dispatchers and foremen who assign work based on skill level and workload, allowing technicians to stay focused.
Support customer satisfaction through professional service and attention to detail.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in diesel engine or commercial truck repair (entry-level and experienced techs encouraged to apply).
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain (CDL testing and physical assistance available).
ASE certifications or willingness to pursue (training reimbursement available).
Virginia State Inspector license preferred or ability to obtain (costs reimbursed).
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow OEM guidelines.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Hourly pay (not flat rate) with a stable Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm shift
