Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: South Torrance, CA

Compensation: $100K + Performance Bonuses + Full Benefits

About the Opportunity

Tiello is currently partnered with a well-established specialty construction contractor in the South Torrance, CA area in their search for a Senior Accountant. This is a high-impact role within a dynamic finance team, offering the opportunity to lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, and contribute to strategic financial decision-making.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing full-cycle accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday, ensuring timely payments and collections
Oversee payroll processing using platforms like ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, including benefits administration and tax compliance
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including financial analysis and reporting
Assist with audit preparation and maintain accurate financial documentation
Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements through implementation and monitoring of internal controls
Analyze financial data to identify trends and support business decision-making
Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting requirements, including grant tracking and reporting when applicable
Support implementation and maintenance of HRIS systems for payroll and HR data
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership to improve financial processes and reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with 2–3+ years in a supervisory or senior-level role
Strong knowledge of GAAP, double-entry accounting, and reconciliation processes
Hands-on experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms
Experience managing AP/AR, payroll systems and benefits administration
Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
High level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting (including 10-key proficiency)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
