Electrical Service Manager
Tiello has partnered with a leading Electrical Contractor that is looking a Electrical Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the electrical service team, ensuring that all electrical projects and services are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in electrical systems, and the ability to manage a team of technicians while fostering a positive work environment and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management & Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of electrical technicians and service staff, providing coaching, training, and support to enhance team performance.
- Schedule and assign daily service calls, ensuring an appropriate balance of workload.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members to promote professional growth.
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and retention of skilled electrical technicians.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing technical support, and resolving service-related issues.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is provided, maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, building trust and promoting repeat business.
- Project Oversight & Coordination:
- Oversee the execution of electrical service projects, including troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
- Budget & Cost Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for service projects, ensuring that costs are controlled and profits are maximized.
- Monitor service job profitability, making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that all electrical work is performed in compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Foster a culture of safety and ensure that all team members adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform regular safety audits and training sessions for technicians to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of service requests, work orders, job status, and completed projects.
- Prepare and review reports on service team performance, financial status, and customer feedback.
- Ensure all work orders and billing are processed in a timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical service.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and enhancing team efficiency.
- Implement new systems or technologies to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical service, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing a service team and successfully delivering electrical projects.
- Licensing & Certifications:
- Licensed Electrician (State-specific, if applicable).
- Additional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Safety Certification (OSHA, etc.) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management tools and software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Solid understanding of budgeting and financial management in a service environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation in both residential and commercial settings.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems, such as solar or energy storage, is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and customer-focused mindset.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on work when necessary.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments, including job sites and customer locations.
