Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable Commercial General Contractor in Central Iowa on their search for a Preconstruction Manager to focus on work in the Commercial sector, managing a team putting together estimates up to $50M+.
As a Preconstruction Manager, your main responsibility will be to oversee a team of estimators who are responsible for compiling estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project.
Job Title: Preconstruction Manager (Commercial Construction)
Project Types: Education(K-12), Healthcare, Government, Entertainment/Recreation, Office Buildings, Financial Institutions/Banks
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
- Ability to oversee 4-5 projects at a time, valuing anywhere from $100K-$50M in project size
- Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
- Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment
- Push the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
- Oversee the preparation of conceptual estimates
- Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
- Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
- Compare competitive specialist and material
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related is preferred.
- Must have experience using Sage (Estimating)
- Knowledge/Proficient in(are a plus): Procore, MS Office Products, Blue Beam, On-Screen Takeoff
- 10+ years preconstruction management experience working for reputable General Contractors/Subcontractors.
- Commercial Project Experience
