Tiello has partnered with a premier Commercial Refrigeration and HVAC contractor in Southern California in search of a seasoned Union EMS Technician to support post-installation system commissioning and optimization across complex commercial projects.
This is not an install role - this position steps in after installation is complete to own the final configuration, tuning, diagnostics, and performance validation of energy management and refrigeration control systems. You’ll be the expert responsible for making sure the system runs exactly as designed - or better.
Responsibilities:
- Commission and program EMS platforms
- Verify system inputs/outputs, adjust parameters, and ensure correct sequencing
- Troubleshoot and resolve post-install issues across refrigeration and HVAC systems
- Collaborate with project teams, service techs, and controls engineers
- Tune system settings for optimal performance, efficiency, and energy savings
- Document configurations, alarm protocols, and startup reports for turnover
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of field experience in EMS, refrigeration controls, or BMS integration
- Proficiency with one or more major EMS platforms
- Experience working on startup/commissioning phase of construction projects
- Ability to troubleshoot controls systems both in-field and remotely
- Union affiliation with Local 250 or open to union sponsorship
- Familiarity with supermarket refrigeration, cold storage, or large-scale commercial systems
