Job Title: Senior Estimator

Location: Charlotte, NC

Compensation: $130,000-$170,000

Company Overview:

Tiello has partnered with a leading National Heavy Civil General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. They are seeking a Senior Estimator in Charlotte, NC to support their growing operations across the Southeast. This is a high-impact role with direct visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape project pursuits from the ground up.

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in estimating experience in civil infrastructure, heavy highway, and/or large-scale land development projects.  The Senior Estimator will play a key role in preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project documents, and leading bid efforts for major infrastructure and civil construction projects.

Civil Infrastructure, Heavy Highway, Utilities, and Large-Scale Land Development Projects ($100M+)

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage estimating efforts for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignment.
• Prepare competitive bid packages and proposals for executive review.
• Identify risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations during bid phases.
• Mentor and support junior estimators in best practices and processes.
• Partner with leadership to support business development efforts.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience in civil, infrastructure, or heavy construction.
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction means, methods, and cost structures.
• Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid or Agtek preferred).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams.
• Willingness to travel or pass background/drug screen
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
