Overview

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on healthcare and specialized commercial renovation projects. This role focuses on fast-paced, short-duration projects with an emphasis on quality, schedule control, and strong subcontractor coordination.

Projects are local with no travel requirements, and the company maintains a defined geographic radius to support work-life balance.

Project Profile

  • Primary work: Healthcare and medical facility renovations
  • Typical project types:
  • Medical office and clinic renovations
  • Specialty treatment facilities
  • Interior build-outs and phased renovations in occupied environments
  • Project size: $1M – $15M
  • Project duration: Approximately 6 – 11 months
  • Work environment: Multiple fast-cycle projects requiring strong planning and coordination

Experience in other complex interior renovations (commercial, institutional, or government) is also considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations from preconstruction through closeout
  • Develop and maintain 3–4 week look-ahead schedules
  • Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries
  • Maintain site safety, cleanliness, and quality standards
  • Manage project schedule and support budget tracking
  • Serve as the primary field contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Oversee work in active/occupied environments with minimal disruption

Qualifications

  • Superintendent or strong Assistant Superintendent ready to step into a lead role
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple short-duration projects
  • Background in renovation and interior construction
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred)
  • Strong subcontractor management and communication skills
  • Stable work history with consistent tenure

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $90,000 – $120,000
  • Annual bonus: 5–10%
  • Vehicle allowance: Monthly stipend
  • Phone allowance: Monthly stipend
