This essential role focuses on locating, marking, and documenting underground utilities to support the safety and success of construction and development projects.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize electromagnetic and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) equipment to locate underground utilities, including gas, water, sewer, electrical, and telecom lines.
• Accurately mark utility locations using paint, flags, or other methods in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Interpret and analyze utility maps, construction drawings, and GIS data to verify utility locations.
• Maintain detailed records of utility location activities and prepare documentation for client use.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers to clarify project requirements and timelines.
• Conduct on-site safety checks to ensure compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during utility designation.
• Stay current with advancements in utility locating equipment and practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility locating or a related field.
• Proficiency with utility locating equipment, including GPR and electromagnetic locators.
• Strong understanding of utility systems and construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, GIS maps, and utility schematics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
