Job Title: Director of Construction Risk & Contract Operations
Location: Orange Park FL
This is a full-time, in-office position five days per week. Periodic travel and additional hours may be required based on business needs.
Compensation: $150,000+

Role Summary
The Director of Construction Risk & Contract Operations will lead the organization`s enterprise contract and risk-management functions. Working closely with senior executive leadership and operating teams, this individual will protect the business through practical contract decisions, effective insurance and surety programs, legal coordination, corporate compliance, safety-risk oversight, and technology governance. The successful candidate will be hands-on, commercially minded, and equally comfortable reviewing detailed contract language and advising leadership on broader business risk.

Enterprise-level construction risk and corporate operations, including commercial agreements, insurance, claims, surety, lien rights, compliance, safety exposure, and technology governance.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the review, negotiation, and drafting of construction and commercial agreements, including updates to standard templates and recommendations regarding non-standard risk provisions.
- Develop practical contract guidance and train employees who review, negotiate, or administer contracts and risk-related processes.
- Manage the organization`s commercial insurance placement and renewal process in partnership with insurance brokers, including applications, exposure data, coverage review, and operational updates.
- Oversee insurance claims from initial reporting through resolution, coordinating documentation, strategy, carriers, brokers, counsel, and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary business contact for outside counsel and legal matters, including insurance-approved counsel, case coordination, and document production under legal guidance.
- Administer lien notice and lien-rights processes, ensuring the appropriate systems and procedures are used across applicable jurisdictions.
- Coordinate the company`s surety and bonding program, including contract review, financing documentation, bond requirements, active-bond tracking, and closeout.
- Partner with Human Resources and operations to evaluate safety-program effectiveness and manage risk associated with workers` compensation, vehicles, equipment, and field activities.
- Maintain corporate registrations, business licenses, entity records, registered-agent relationships, and documentation related to organizational or leadership changes.
- Oversee technology and cybersecurity risk in partnership with internal resources and external vendors, ensuring security programs and help-desk services effectively support the organization.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor`s degree in business, construction management, risk management, finance, legal studies, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least five years of progressive contracts, risk management, insurance, legal operations, or related leadership experience within the construction industry. Direct construction-industry experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, negotiating, and drafting construction-related contract language and assessing provisions involving indemnity, insurance, liability, and commercial risk.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial insurance programs, claims management, surety bonds, and lien-related processes.
- Experience coordinating outside counsel, legal matters, document production, and insurer involvement in claims or disputes.
- Experience with corporate registrations, business licensing, entity compliance, or registered-agent services is strongly preferred.
- Meaningful experience overseeing IT operations, cybersecurity risk, technology vendors, or an internal technology function is required.
- Strong business judgment, analytical ability, written communication, and executive presence, with the ability to translate risk into practical recommendations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, along with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week, travel periodically, and perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
