Job Title: Commercial Construction Senior Estimator

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Compensation: $120,000 - $160,000 Base + Benefits

Company Overview

A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team. The company delivers a diverse portfolio of ground-up and renovation projects throughout the Southwest, including self-storage, industrial, warehouse, retail, office, mixed-use, and tenant improvement construction.

With a strong backlog of repeat clients and consistent annual growth, the organization has built a reputation for quality, long-term relationships, and successful project delivery across multiple commercial sectors. Approximately half of the company`s annual volume consists of self-storage construction, making it one of the firm`s core markets.

Position Summary

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in developing budgets, preparing competitive bids, soliciting subcontractor pricing, leveling bids, reviewing scopes, and supporting projects from conceptual budgeting through project turnover.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background estimating ground-up commercial construction projects and be comfortable managing multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates
Perform quantity takeoffs and scope reviews
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Level bids and identify scope gaps
Develop budgets and value engineering options
Participate in preconstruction meetings and strategy discussions
Manage multiple estimates concurrently
Coordinate with project management and operations teams during project handoff
Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners
Support continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes

Qualifications

7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
Experience estimating ground-up commercial projects
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing
Experience with subcontractor buyouts, bid leveling, and budget development
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, or similar construction software
Strong communication and organizational skills
Self-storage, industrial, warehouse, or tilt-wall experience highly preferred
