Position: Commercial Roofing Estimator

Compensation: $80k - $110k + Bonuses

Tiello is proud to be partnered with a leading commercial roofing and building envelope contractor known for delivering high-quality reroof, restoration, and new construction projects across the region. With an established reputation for safety, performance, and customer satisfaction, the company continues to expand its project portfolio and is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their growing team.

The Commercial Roofing Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects, from initial bid opportunities through proposal submission. This individual will work closely with clients, project managers, vendors, and operations teams to develop detailed scopes, pricing, and proposals that support profitable project growth.

Project Types:

Commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily roofing projects — including reroofs, new construction, and roof restoration involving TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, and coating systems.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects.
Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs for roofing materials, labor, equipment, and related components.
Develop competitive pricing while maintaining target project margins.
Conduct site visits and evaluate existing roof conditions when required.
Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Identify project risks, exclusions, and potential scope gaps during the estimating process.
Prepare detailed proposals and clearly communicate scope, pricing, and project assumptions.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure smooth project handoffs.
Maintain organized estimating records, bid logs, and supporting documentation.
Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, client presentations, and project turnover meetings as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements

3+ years of experience estimating commercial roofing projects.
Strong knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, BUR, and coating systems.
Experience with commercial reroof, new construction, and restoration projects.
Strong understanding of roofing materials, installation methods, labor requirements, and project costs.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and architectural plans.
Experience with roofing estimating or takeoff software preferred.
Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
