ABOUT SHARMAINE

I'm a Los Angeles native with a lifelong passion for art and hands-on creation. My journey led me to attend Parsons, The New School for Design in New York City, where I majored in fine arts. After graduation, I initially explored the marketing industry but soon discovered my talent for connecting with people.

Transitioning into a new career as a peoples operations manager, I collaborated closely with recruiters but found myself seeking more from the talent pool. Taking initiative, I began sourcing candidates independently and found a natural knack for recruitment. This realization sparked my interest in pursuing recruitment as my next professional endeavor.

Construction has always been close to my heart, thanks to my father, a seasoned general contractor. Growing up, I spent many times after school visiting job sites, fascinated by the process of crafting structures from raw materials. This first hand exposure ignited my passion for the construction industry and motivated me to facilitate connections between talented individuals and rewarding opportunities in construction.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY?

One of the distinguishing factors of the construction industry is its accessibility. Entry can be achieved through vocational schooling, apprenticeships, or practical training, opening doors to many individuals. Unlike professions where work may seem detached from its impact, construction offers the opportunity to contribute to something meaningful. It has the power to transform communities, leaving a lasting imprint on landscapes and lives. Moreover, the construction sector offers inherent stability, with a consistent demand for new construction, renovations, and maintenance. This creates diverse career opportunities for hardworking individuals to carve out their own paths and explore various roles within the industry.

WHAT ARE SOME HOBBIES/INTERESTS?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids and family, indulging in activities such as painting, pottery, cooking and live music. Additionally, I love embarking on adventures, traveling to new destinations, and immersing myself in the culture and charm of different cities.
