ABOUT JENNIFER

I was born in Scranton, PA (home of The Office!) and called the beautiful Pocono Mountains home for 16 years before relocating to the Emerald Coast of Florida and ultimately to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. I was raised in a blue-collar family that valued skilled labor, and I was consistently working alongside my dad on home renovation projects. In 2010, I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in education, and again in 2012 with a Master's in New Media & Global Education.

After graduating college, I began working as an educator in the Adult Education program at my local community college, assisting students working toward a secondary credential to also transition into college and vocational programs, predominantly in the trades industries. I had the privilege of recruiting for specialty programs, instructing specialty courses, and navigating the career readiness process for my students. In 2015, I made a professional transition and began a career in recruiting within the construction and steel sectors. For seven years I continued to grow relationships with candidates and clients nationwide. My passion for the industry grew along with my desire to continue to mentor and coach others.

As a recruiter and manager, I’m now able to continue cultivating relationships within the industry and coach and guide newer recruiters through best practices, principles, and measures of success.

Like mostly everyone I encounter in the world of construction – I love what I do!

What is your favorite thing about the Construction Industry

Construction is such a cathartic industry – getting to see a project come to fruition from concept through completion – there’s nothing like it!

It is an industry that values integrity, hard work, and most importantly – authentic experience. It’s an industry that promotes those who have “walked the walk” and welcomes newcomers to learn their practices.

The possibilities for growth are endless. I’ve worked with candidates who were newcomers to the industry and have since gone on to achieve success as executives at multi-million-dollar construction companies.

It’s this authenticity that speaks to me and gives me real drive to continue to make an impact on the industry as a whole.

What are some hobbies/Interests?

When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking new recipes, DIY projects in my home with my husband, and exploring new adventures and scenery with our two dogs Manning and Roman.
