Construction Recruiter

ABOUT ALYSSA
I was born and raised in Schaumburg, Illinois, where I grew up playing sports like softball, volleyball, and cheerleading—eventually becoming a Division I collegiate cheerleader at Northern Illinois University. I earned a degree in Communication with minors in Journalism and Media Studies.
My interest in media, photography, and video editing led me to take numerous related courses and get involved in both school broadcast and sports broadcasting programs. That passion evolved into a focus on social media, where I found early success through a network marketing company promoting hair products. I loved creating engaging video content and messaging strategies, and quickly discovered my natural ability to connect with people and build lasting relationships.
That realization led me to a career in recruiting. I spent the last five years in downtown Chicago, where I was introduced to full-desk recruiting within the construction industry through a search firm. It turned out to be an ideal fit—combining my background in communication, my comfort with digital platforms like LinkedIn, and my passion for helping people take the next step in their careers.
What is your favorite thing about the Construction Industry?
I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and learning what they're looking for—whether it's clients seeking top talent or candidates exploring new opportunities. Building meaningful relationships and helping guide career moves is incredibly rewarding, especially knowing how life-changing the right job can be.
What are some hobbies/Interests?
In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog, practicing Pilates, getting involved in church, dancing the night away at concerts with my husband, and traveling to new countries. Since my recent move to Kansas City, I’ve loved exploring everything the city has to offer. I also enjoy collaborating with small businesses on social media—and as a huge taco lover, I'm always on the hunt for the best local spots!
