About Corey Connect with me

I grew up around construction and a lot of other blue-collar work. My first full-time manual labor job was detasseling corn in the summers when I was 12, which quickly made me realize that there are not a lot of things more rewarding and humbling than a hard day's work. Throughout high school and college, I worked various construction jobs that helped me develop a passion for the industry.

After college, I worked for 5 years as a Construction Insurance Consultant. In this role, I helped owners and executives of construction companies manage risk in their business and on the projects they built. This mostly consisted of consulting on their insurance needs (workers compensation, general liability, property, inland marine, auto, professional liability, management liability, cyber, OCIP's, CCIP's, and builder's risk).

Outside of insurance and risk management, one area of frustration always seemed to come up in conversation - recruiting and retaining employees. This is a problem most contractors are up against, which is why I decided to dive headfirst into helping to solve this ongoing issue and help find top talent for contractors on the West Coast and Central Market.

What is your favorite thing about the Construction Industry?

Like most people in construction, I love the process of seeing a project built and come to fruition. Most people see a building in its final phase being utilized for the purpose it was created. But what the vast majority of people don't see or understand is the countless hours, blood, sweat, and tears that went into a project. I have a huge appreciation and respect for the men and women that work in this industry.

What are some hobbies/Interests?

When I'm not working, I'm more than likely spending time with my family and friends, traveling, at the gym, doing yoga, hiking, cooking, or reading.
