Tiello has partnered with a Structural Steel Specialty Contractor who is seeking to add an experienced Senior level PM/Estimator to their growing team.
Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, and completion of the entire project. The project schedule and cost must be maintained.
Title: Senior Project Manager/Estimator
Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical for a Project Manager but is not meant to be all-inclusive. Each project is unique and requires different approaches, but the end goal is always the same; a safe, profitable project with a happy customer.
- Responsible for thorough understanding of each project’s definition, scope, goals, and deliverables
- Responsible for execution and improvement of project schedules, budgets, and technical performances
- Lead planning and implementation of project
- May manage multiple projects in various stages of completion, depending upon size and complexity
- Work with assigned Project Assistants or Assistant Project Managers; communicate all project requirements and responsibilities
- Manage timelines and performance
- Conduct formal/informal status meetings with management of project status, issues or potential impacts.
- Manage project budget
- Prepare and negotiate all project change orders
- Manage and coordinate all shop drawings, field drawings, and all other project details with general contractor and any subcontractors.
- Select and manage cost-effective subcontractors and negotiation of all project contracts
Requirements:
- B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent project management experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility and experience in project management positions with an emphasis on structural and/or miscellaneous metals projects
- Strong experience with steel construction and/or steel fabrication
- Strong working knowledge of construction drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to read design documents and familiarity with design specifications (AISC, AWS, and materials)
- Ability to organize and maintain complex data, drawings, legal contracts, requests for information (RFIs) and answers, and miscellaneous information through a project’s completion
- Ability to determine and track Cost to Completes (CTCs), change orders (COs), and forecast future costs.
- Ability to maintain a professional relationship with clients, general contractors, engineers, field personnel, coworkers, project managers, design, and detail personnel.
- Possess software capability of MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook
- Ability to use and navigate Tekla Power Fab. Additional software knowledge of Tekla Structures and Auto Cad is a plus.
- Field measuring with assistance from the field will be required.
- Candidate must be able to manage, delegate and teach their Project Engineer/Coordinator on all aspects of their projects
