Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relations & Service Quality: Maintain strong customer relations by communicating effectively, demonstrating a positive attitude, and meeting customer requirements in a timely, efficient, and high-quality manner. Actively seeks opportunities to improve service quality and revenue.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled, routine preventive maintenance on various security equipment and systems under contract, including inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Goal-Oriented Maintenance: Complete maintenance with the aim of reducing emergency calls and achieving a goal of zero call-backs.
- On-Call Support: Participate in an emergency on-call rotation to provide timely support as needed.
- System Troubleshooting and Repair: Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair systems to restore full operation; recommend necessary adjustments or replacements to enhance performance.
- Reporting & Technical Recommendations: Inform supervisors about equipment needing further evaluation or replacement and provide technical recommendations to support sales teams in conducting surveys or inspections.
- Sales Support & Lead Generation: Identify potential sales leads during service calls and refer them to the sales team when appropriate.
- Customer Training: Offer basic customer training on systems, fostering good relations and supporting contract retention.
- Documentation & Inventory Management: Maintain company documentation according to policies, manage materials responsibly, and recommend inventory requirements.
- Professional Development: Keep up with new technology, attend training as requested, and adapt to changing industry standards.
Job Requirements
Education and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in programming security systems (e.g., Andover Controls, Schneider Electric, Lenel, DSX, Pelco, Bosch, Avigilon, Ademco).
- 2 years of experience in security system installation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with computers and IT networks is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and flexibility.
- Proven troubleshooting skills.
- Independent and proactive.
Physical Requirements:
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week, in shifts of 8-10 hours.
- Activity Requirements: Standing, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching, bending, twisting, squatting, and sitting at various intervals.
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift weights ranging from 10 to 75 lbs. at varying frequencies, carrying up to 60 lbs. over 40 feet.
- Hand & Foot Use: Continuous grasping, frequent pushing/pulling, fine motor skills for installation and terminations, and foot use for equipment operation.
- Vision: Adequate for blueprint reading and wire color coding.
- Balance: Suitable for ladder and scaffold climbing.
Environmental Factors:
- Work environments range from 0°F to 100°F, indoors and outdoors.
- Potential exposure to dust, gases, fumes, and odors within safe limits.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Includes a hard hat, safety glasses, protective-toe boots, gloves, and, as needed, fall protection, respirators, and arc flash gear.
