Company Overview:
Tiello is partnered with a well-established construction contractor based in Astoria, NY, in their search for a Project Coordinator to support field and office operations on commercial projects throughout the region.
Role Summary:
The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in the success of construction projects by supporting project managers, coordinating field and administrative activities, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to Project Managers and Field Supervisors
- Assist with developing project schedules, plans, and budgets
- Help gather vendor quotes and pricing for materials and subcontractor scopes
- Maintain accurate project records including task trackers, schedules, minutes, and reports
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
- Schedule and coordinate project meetings and prepare meeting agendas and follow-ups
- Track project progress and report updates to project leadership
- Support procurement efforts including material orders, delivery coordination, and vendor follow-up
- Identify and resolve minor issues before they impact the project schedule
- Ensure all documentation and processes comply with company quality standards
- Provide backup support to office teammates during vacations or absences
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in an administrative or project coordination role (construction industry preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to type at least 50 words per minute and accurately proofread documents
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently, identify issues, and proactively offer solutions
- Willingness to work onsite in the Astoria office
