Grading Superintendent

Job Description:
Tiello has partnered with a leading Heavy Civil Contractor who is looking for a Mass Grade Superintendent in North Carolina who focuses on Commercial/Residential Sitework, as well as Roadway, projects valued up to $25MM in project value in the North Carolina area.
Title: Mass Grade Superintendent (Commercial/Residential/Industrial Sitework and Roadway)
Project Types: Commercial/Residential/Industrial Sitework and Roadway
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all Mass Grading on construction projects assigned
- Supervise and coordinate construction workers
- Oversee and manage anywhere from four to six crews
- Be able to successfully operate a Dozer using Trimble/Topcon or with Grade Stick if needed
- Needs to be able to operate all types of equipment such as the excavator, skid-steer, front-end loader, as well as motor-grader if possible.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications and deadlines
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in the construction industry
- Needs to be able to operate GPS - Topcon and Topcon but also needs to have the ability to use a grade rod/stick
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and construction techniques
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor, develop, and grow foremen on the team to get promoted
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
