Title: Field Inspector (Sprinkler/Alarm)

Location: Hampton, VA

Compensation: $35-$45/hr

Tiello is seeking a skilled Field Inspector to join a growing fire protection services team. This role is responsible for testing, inspecting, and repairing fixed fire protection systems while ensuring all work is properly documented and compliant with industry standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, and repairs of fire protection systems and components according to manufacturer instructions, codes/standards, and company procedures
• Schedule and complete inspections, providing accurate documentation for customer and regulatory records
• Communicate discrepancies, deficiencies, and necessary repairs clearly to both customers and internal teams
• Maintain required certifications and licenses through continuing education and training
• Exercise sound judgment in safety practices and stop unsafe acts when necessary
• Operate tools, gauges, and industry equipment efficiently to complete service tasks
• Support other duties and related field work as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in the fire protection industry
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
• Background in fire sprinkler service/inspection
• Manufacturer certifications and NICET certification strongly preferred
• Knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (past 5 years)
• Ability to travel and stay out of town as required
• Physically able to stand for long periods, lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull in varying environments
• Comfortable working in both extreme cold and hot temperatures and around loud noise
