Tiello is partnered with a leading commercial contractor specializing in insulation, waterproofing, and Division 7 scopes, in their search for a Commercial Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. This role is based in [City, State] and plays a critical part in driving accurate bids and

supporting the company`s long-term growth.

Role Summary:

The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing bid documents, preparing proposals, and collaborating with internal teams and external clients to ensure competitive pricing, clarity of scope, and seamless project execution. Candidates with Division 7, general construction, or building envelope experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend sales meetings to review bidding opportunities, deadlines, and new assignments
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine full project scope
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing worksheets, and final bid proposals
  • Create and submit standardized quote letters for general contractors and clients
  • Conduct job site assessments to evaluate access, working heights, and material installation challenges
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to review scopes, pricing strategies, and bid competitiveness
  • Respond to RFIs, RFPs, and updated construction documents in a timely and organized manner
  • Communicate with vendors, manufacturers, and subs to gather pricing and material details
  • Log all bid activity, customer interactions, and scope notes into CRM or sales database
  • Participate in bid reviews and post-bid negotiations with the sales and leadership teams
  • Coordinate handoff meetings and set up job files upon contract award
  • Prepare and forward technical submittals and documentation for contractor approval
  • Assist production teams in scheduling, manpower forecasting, and material planning
  • Review and support billing projections, job costing, and project financial performance
  • Conduct job site visits to inspect progress, address issues, and support client relations
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to department development

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (Division 7 preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Proficient in takeoff software, Microsoft Excel, and reading construction drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable attending job site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with sales and operations
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
