Tiello is partnered with a leading Commercial Roofing Contractor in the Carolinas that is actively seeking a Commercial Estimator to join their Charlotte office. This is a critical role for someone who brings precision, urgency, and a strong understanding of commercial re-roof and service estimating.

About the Role

You’ll work hand-in-hand with the sales and operations teams to estimate a variety of commercial roofing scopes—from large-scale re-roofs to detailed service repairs. This is not a production-line estimating desk. This team values communication, accuracy, and your ability to work through challenges in real time. The work is primarily re-roof with minimal new construction, and you’ll have direct influence on job strategy and success.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, plans, and site conditions to generate accurate takeoffs and cost estimates
• Scope and price re-roof, repair, and maintenance work for commercial and industrial clients
• Collaborate with sales and project teams to develop proposals that are competitive and profitable
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Work with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to gather pricing and schedule details
• Prepare and submit complete, detailed proposals within bid timelines
• Utilize estimating software (The Edge preferred, Excel also accepted)
• Track historical pricing and maintain updated cost data
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal staff to align project expectations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing estimating (preferred)
• Familiarity with The Edge or Excel-based takeoff and estimating systems
• Strong understanding of commercial re-roofing scopes, systems, and assemblies
• Ability to read blueprints, perform material takeoffs, and build full scope pricing
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and deadline-driven
• Local to Charlotte or willing to relocate (remote only considered in rare cases)
• Comfortable visiting job sites for inspections and field walks
