Electrical Safety Supervisor
SAFETY SUPERVISOR DESCRIPTION
Safety Supervisor is responsible for monitoring workplace activities and identifying opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards, performs safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
• Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to access risk.
• Monitor compliance to policies by inspecting employees and operations.
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
• Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims.
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics. QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience
• Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
• OSHA 30 Certification required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to conduct training
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
• Ability to travel throughout facility to conduct safety inspections
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on computer
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
