Role Overview

The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects. This role requires strong technical roofing knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, takeoffs, proposals, and bid packages for commercial roofing projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, scopes, and reports to determine requirements.
• Conduct roof assessments, site visits, and measurements (when required).
• Analyze labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and project variables.
• Produce accurate quantities, pricing, and proposals across multiple roofing systems:
• TPO, PVC, EPDM
• Modified Bitumen
• BUR
• Coatings
• Metal roofing & flashing
• Communicate with clients, GC partners, vendors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams for handoff and project alignment.
• Track bid calendars, deadlines, addendums, and RFI responses.
• Assist with value engineering options to improve competitiveness without compromising quality.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, presentations, and client walk-throughs.
• Maintain organization across multiple active bids, deadlines, and follow-up schedules.

Qualifications

Required:

• 2–5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems
• Proficiency with estimating tools/software (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, AccuLynx, DataForma, FCS, etc.)
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and roof plans
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred:

• Field experience (installer, foreman, service tech) strongly preferred
• Experience estimating for reroof, tenant improvement, and small-to-large commercial projects
• Ability to perform roof inspections and assist with design options
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• OSHA 10 or higher
