Tiello has partnered with a highly successful Heavy Civil, Water, and Wastewater General Contractor in the North Charlotte, NC area on their search for an Assistant Project Manager with experience in the Heavy Civil, Water, and Wastewater Construction sector to work on large scale Heavy Civil, Water, and Wastewater Construction projects up to $500M.

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (3-5+ years of experience specifically in Heavy Civil, Water, and Wastewater Projects)

Project Types: Heavy Civil, Water, Wastewater

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform all essential APM/SRPE job responsibilities
  • Experience and comfort performing Assistant Project Manager’s and Senior Project Engineer’s responsibilities
  • Estimate and establish budgets and contract price
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases
  • Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery
  • Maintain the project schedule and budget
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors
  • Provide the client with value-engineered solutions when applicable
  • Work with the Superintendent to develop safety plans and to implement safety procedures
  • Manage project deliverables
  • Oversee and mentor the project staff to foster a positive team setting

Skills & Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related to an Engineering field.
  • 3-5+ years managing projects for a reputable heavy civil general contractor(s) with projects focused on the water and wastewater sectors.
  • Heavy Civil, Water, Wastewater experience
  • Experience with cost projection, financial analysis, budget reviews, labor reports.
