Company Overview:
Tiello is partnered with a leading Commercial Roofing Contractor based in [City/State] in their search for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support their growing accounting team and project operations.
Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in construction accounting or commercial roofing and will be responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and client communication.
Project Type:
Commercial Roofing – Service, Reroofs, New Construction, and Maintenance Contracts
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and send accurate customer invoices in alignment with contract terms and service reports
- Maintain job billing schedules and ensure timely submission of pay applications
- Collaborate with project managers and service coordinators to validate billing information
- Monitor aging reports and actively manage collections efforts
- Reconcile payments, resolve payment discrepancies, and post receipts
- Provide AR reporting to leadership, highlighting outstanding balances and risk accounts
- Assist with lien releases, compliance documents, and customer follow-up
- Interface with clients and internal teams to address billing-related inquiries professionally
- Support month-end close and audit processes as needed
- Maintain up-to-date customer records and contract documents in accounting software
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in commercial roofing or construction
- Strong understanding of AIA billing, lien waivers, and contract billing structures
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage, or other construction accounting software
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check
